This is basically how we see woman in the media, how men see woman how women see women and how women compare themselves to other women. 1975 they put in perfect woman for the entertainment of the heterosexual male.
this is when the camera is fixed on the woman and highlights her curves, woman are known as a status of objects.
this is apparent even when there is no need for females to be seen as sexy e.g. the millers, the mum comes across very sexy when she is suppose to be a mother.
However, some people enjoy being looked at in that way e.g. beauty pageants.
woman: chocolate box,invitational,super-smiler, romantic or sexual = marjorie (1980)
men: carefree, pratical, seductive, comical, catalogue = trevor (1975)
you couldn't answer all the questions because you were so focused on looking at the girl as she is the focus and the gaze of all public audience
WWW: You have explained the theory using notes and resources from the lesson. You have recognised the way in which the audience focused on the woman in the music video and explained why the audience would be unable to answer questions unrelated to the woman linking this to the theory.
ReplyDeleteEBI: You had linked the homework to the theory. How is the theory shown in the task? How is it related? You also need to fully explain certain parts of your write up as at the moment it is in note form. What has ‘beauty pageant’ got to do with criticism of theory? Why do you think men and women are represented differently when looking at their facial expressions?
